Newly adapted and exquisitely set to music, the Odes of Solomon are both treasures from the past and a legacy of worship for today's believers and for generations to come.

Songs of Your Truth CD

This album started as a class presentation by Natalie Renee Perkins for Dr. Hal Taussig’s class, “Loosening Canon,” at Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York in the fall of 2014.

A New New Testament was used for translation with some artistic shifts. Some of the odes are used in their entirety, some are not.

De Oden van Salomo

Met Psalmen voor Nu-dichters Menno van der Beek, Sergej Visser en Roeland Smith en een heel team aan fantastische muzikanten ging componist/multi-instrumentalist/producer Sjoerd Visser aan de slag om de Oden op een zo fris mogelijke manier te vertalen naar hedendaags Nederlands en naar muziek die het hart van de Oden raakt. In oktober 2013 zag de 1ste CD het levenslicht.

Three settings for unaccompanied mixed choir, of ancient texts with strong parallels to the Dead Sea Scrolls, “From the Odes of Solomon” received a Commendation in the 2007 Heritage Singers Composers Competition and was selected for Project Encore, Schola Cantorum on Hudson's project to promote significant new choral works.

Nicholas Piper

From the Odes of Solomon comes this beautifully poetic text, “My heart was cloven and a flower appeared….” Set in a prelude and fugue form, this piece is performed live by the Ottawa Bach Choir at Podium 2012. Richard Todd (The Ottawa Citizen) wrote, “Nicholas Piper's beautiful My Heart Was Cloven received its World Premiere. The dynamic performance was most persuasive.”
